Stamcellsfabrikerna i Europa

Stamcellsforskningens främsta argument är att få resurser att bota sjukdomar. Parkinsons sjukdom, Alzheimers sjukdom, förlamningar, stroke och diabetes. Runt om i Europa finns det frysboxar med tusentals ägg och miljarder spermier som blivit över från fertilitetsbehandlingar.

Daily Mail (07/08/06) har en artikel med rubriken "A barbaric kind of beauty":
- Med Hermesväskan under armen kan inte Susan Barrington, 52-årig hemmafru från Buckinghamshire, låta bli att le när hon lämnar den exklusiva kliniken på Wimpole Street i London. Hon har just fått det slutliga klartecknet att resa utomlands för en icke-kirurgisk behandling av allra senaste klass som lovar att göra hennes utseende tio år yngre.
Hon bryr sig inte om att behandlingen är dyr, involverar barn och så kontroversiell att den inte är tillåten att utföras i England - bland hennes stormrika vänner är detta det ultimata ungdoms-elixiret. Den attraktiva brunetten har valt en kontroversiell stamcellsbehandling där navelsträngsvävnad från nyfödda barn ska injiceras i hennes kropp.

REFLEKTION Europa har ett antal stamcellsfabriker med ett stort antal embryomagasin genom vilka många stamcellsprojekt drivs. Exemplet med Susan Barrington är bara ett av många ytterst diskutabla projekt. Fundamentala människovärden säljs för pengar

EU:s beslut om stamcellsforskning sagt:

Motståndarna mot stamcellsforskning sätter käppar i hjulet för kampen att stoppa mycket mänskligt lidande, och de gör det på osakliga, religiösa och känslomässiga grunder.

Pagrotsky vill nu att Sverige ska bli världsledande på stamcellsforskning.

Den svenska kristenheten frågar sig:
- Gör vi nu embryon till stamcellsfabriker?
- Säljer vi människovärdet för marknadens framgångar?
- Har redan mänskligt liv blivit en produkt som vilken som helst?

Kriget Hizbollah, Libanon, Iran vs Israel

KRIGET HAR PÅTVINGATS Israel. Israels civilbefolkning lider av Hizbollahs attacker. Världen tycks vilja glömma - eller inte se - att det var Hizbollah som inledde stridigheterna. Det skriver Ulf Cahn - generalsekreterare i Förenade Israelinsamlingen, Keren Hayesod - som politisk kommentator i den kristna veckotidningen Hemmets Vän.

Israels angrepp mot dels en FN-postering och dels mot byn Qana har skildrats propagandistiskt i media. Även här bär Hizbollah - och faktiskt FN själv - skulden till vad som skett. All anledning finns att vara skeptisk mot rapporteringen i svenska medier. Libanesiska offer skildras, men sällan Israels civila offer.

Svenska och västliga media står på Irans och Ahmadinejads, Hizbollahs och Hamas' sida i sitt solidaritetskrig mot Israel. Se senaste media skandalen och bildmanipulationen på Reuters

Tisha B'av and Book of Lamentations

Thursday (03/08/06) marks Tisha B'av, the 9th of the Hebrew month Av, which commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Holy Temples in Jerusalem by the Babylonians and Romans, respectively. As a sign of mourning, Jewish Law obligates one to sit on the ground or a low stool from the onset of the day at sundown, until noon the next day.

REFLECTION The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to her appointed feasts. All her gateways are desolate, her priests groan, her maidens grieve, and she is in bitter anguish. Her foes have become her masters; her enemies are at ease. The LORD has brought her grief because of her many sins. Her children have gone into exile, captive before the foe. All the splendor has departed from the Daughter of Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no pasture; in weakness they have fled before the pursuer. Praying the realities of Zion by Lars Widerberg

INTERCEDING for Zion, praying forth the realities of Zion implies a rediscovering of the Church, the community of Christ and a recovering of its vocation.

Praying along the line of what Zion represents brings us back to the bringing back of the King. God introduces his King in Zion. God rules from Zion.

Why is no one talking about bringing back the king?

There is no rest in Heaven.
Nothing is settled and at peace in Heaven.

He who created the universe in all its beauty will neither hold his peace nor keep still.

"Until Zion has become what I want it to become."

The Body of Christ "full of grace and truth"

Speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
