FOTNOT Älven heter Vojmån, södra Lappland. Vattenfall vill exploatera en lång sträcka av Vojmån för överledning av vatten till en stor turbin. Skulle nästan torrlägga den vackra ån... Killarna på bilden fick i somras ett antal harrar 2-4 hg men det finns även öring och sik i ån, även aborre och gädda. Förr i tiden tog man upp insjööringar på 5-6 kilo i parti och minut, berättar Lasse som bor i stugan intill. OM du vill vara med att bevara Vojmån kan du skriva på protestlista på Vojmåns hemsida ::

Göran Skytte dokumentärfilmar mission

:: GÖRAN SKYTTE har gjort en dokumentärfilm om mission i Afrika.
SAGT OM FILMEN: - "Jag tycker att det är fantastiskt att något så viktigt som missionen behandlas positivt i en tid där kristen tro kan stämplas som roten till allt ont och mission betraktas som den värsta sortens etnocentrism. Lika fantastiskt är det att den här sortens berättelser lyfts fram. Det finns otaliga liknande människoöden: kristna som lämnat tryggheten, hemlandet, släktingar och vänner för att arbeta för Guds rikes sak i ord och i gärning, med bibeln och spaden (eller något annat verktyg) i handen" säger teologen Vesa Ollilainen.

MISSIONENS MÄNNISKOR som filmen heter presenteras i en trailer (Vill du se den behöver du ladda ned och installera: Adobe Flash) och du får besöka missionens människor i Tanzania med Göran Skytte.

REFLEKTION Göran Skytte och filmen aktualiserar och inspirerar unga och andra till missionen att visa på vem som är Världens Frälsare. Samtidigt bidrar filmen att bygga flera broar till Afrika från Europa. Filmen påminner också om vad en kyrka och församling ytterst är. Är hon inte missionerande är hon inte kyrka. Hon är en 'Missional Church', oavsett om missionen är lokal eller global. Kyrkan är Mission. ::

The Cost of Discipleship

THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP - Arabian Peninsula

"I wish I could do something for him. I feel so helpless," said Joe in a moment of reflection. "Mohammed was my first friend in this region. He grew to love Jesus, and flourished in his faith. Then his wife discovered his Bible, and his family turned against him. It was not long before he ended up in jail for his belief and testimony.

"I so wish I could have changed the course of history, sparing him the pain of persecution. Somehow I feel a bit guilty for not being there for him in this time, but its impossible for me to visit him in jail. I can only pray for him daily, trusting God that this time of hardship and isolation will be used by Him to bring forth even greater fruit in his life. It feels like a sword in my soul every time I think of him in his cell, suffering because he loves Jesus, mocked for his faith, ridiculed for his beliefs."

Walking the road of discipleship with someone is often more painful than witnessing to those who don't want to hear. Yet God is at work - it's His child after all! Please pray for Mohammed and others like him who is suffering persecution for their faith in Jesus and for workers like Joe, who struggle to know how to help.

REFLECTION Ahmed is committed and devoted to his faith and religion. He is ready to die for his belief. Ahmed and other Sunni or Shiia Muslims are a challenge to the Christian believers. How? When we see the terror deeds we forget their commitment and willingness. Islam challenges Christianity in commitment, even if their faith is a failure and fallacy.

From Depression to Devotion, Determination & Dependence

PSALM 119:25-32

The "D" sentences of this Hebrew acrostic psalm contains a portion that sings of Depression, in the spirit of Devotion, Determination, and Dependence.

The eight verses alphabetically arranged:

v.25 - (D)epressed to the dust is my soul: quicken thou me according to thy word.
v.26 - (D)eclared have I (to thee) my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
v.27 - (D)eclare thou to me the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
v.28 - (D)ropping (marg.) is my soul for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
v.29 - (D)eceitful ways remove from me; and grant me thy law graciously.
v.30 - (D)etermined have I upon the way of truth; thy judgments have I laid before me.
v.31 - (D)eliberately I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.
v.32 - (D)ay by day I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

REFLECTION The pain and Depression (v. 25) leads the Psalmist to renew commitment to know the LORD God through the Word - in Devotion, Determination, and Dependence.

New Atheism - Humanismens nyliberala modefluga

:: Den världsbild som dominerar samhället är humanismen - den ateistiska humanismen - som enkelt innebär att Människan är alltings mål, mått och medel. Det är den världsbild som råder i samhället och alla dess organisationer såväl som i världssamfundet.
